Emotional Intelligence (EI)
EI is a 4 dimension characteristic that comprises the following:
Staff should demonstrate the ability to define their emotions and recognize the impact they have on others. Being open to constructive feedback and personal growth is also a hallmark of a self-aware individual.
A person with strong self-management skills demonstrates the ability to control their emotions and adapts them in changing circumstances as well as demonstrating mindfulness by being attentive and responsive in the moment.
Empathy is a hallmark of a socially aware individual and they demonstrate this by the ability to sense and appropriately respond to the emotions of others.
Staff should work to Inspire and develop others by willingly putting their ego aside and focusing on collective outcomes.
A person with integrity acts in accordance with ACC’s values regardless of the situation, supports the mission of ACC by focusing on solutions, and communicates frequently, honestly and openly.
We need to embrace change as an opportunity for growth, demonstrate flexibility and open-mindedness, and encourage creativity and new ideas.
In the spirit of our Core Value of Teamwork, staff should lift others up through words and actions and freely gives appreciation/recognition to others.
We must quickly admit our mistakes and not blame others. When we recognize that choices create outcomes, we take ownership over our position and are better able to dedicate ourselves to exceptional work performance.
Each staff should understand that all of our impressions and interactions count and be aware that we represent ACC at all times. Professionalism also requires an ability to maintain confidentiality at all times.
