We are starting the birthday kick off festivities on September 23 at the Jamestown Campus located at 701 3rd St. NW. The day will start with a free community breakfast in the gymnasium starting at 8:30. The menu includes egg bake, quiche, yogurt parfaits, pastries, coffee and juice.
At 9:30 we will have a short presentation that will include some entertaining stories about the Anne Carlsen Center from the executive teams, families and current and former employees. We will also be airing the PBS Movie – Anne Carlsen: Handicapped Hall of Fame 1985. Things will wrap up around 11:00. We will have a number of tour guides on hand so if you would like a tour of the center, connect with one of our assigned tour guides.
There will also be a designated “expo area” that you can visit before and after the program. This area will featuring the vendors with which the Anne Carlsen Center does business. Each program within the Anne Carlsen Center will also have a booth that will provide more insight into their program. This is an excellent opportunity for you to learn more about the programs within the Anne Carlsen Center and meet those businesses that help us do what we do for our residents and their families.
Did you know the movie, Dumbo, was released in 1941, the same year that the Anne Carlsen Center started serving children and their families? So join us at 6:00 on September 23 back in the Jamestown Campus Gymnasium for a premiere showing of Dumbo for you and your family. We will be serving popcorn, cotton candy, pop and water and Dr. Anne’s favorite…pecan pie!
We are excited to celebrate this momentous occasion with you. We ask that you RSVP by September 10 for the breakfast, for the movie or both. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to let us know, we are happy to provide any further assistance.
We look forward to seeing you on September 23!
