Annie’s House

Ann Nicole Nelson, a beloved daughter and friend to many, died at age 30 in the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001. Ann was working on the 104th floor of the World Trade Center as a bond broker when the towers collapsed. Ann was a North Dakota (Stanley, ND) native and known for her positive, adventuresome spirit. When her computer was returned to her parents after her death, they made a discovery of her “bucket list”. This included the goals Ann wanted to accomplish and the experiences she hoped to have in the future. The list inspired an ambitious project that will bring to life many of Ann’s dreams while transforming the lives of thousands of deserving individuals. The building of Annie’s House and the development of the Adaptive Recreation Program was and remains a collaborative effort.

Annie’s House is located at Bottineau Winter Park nestled in North Dakota’s scenic Turtle Mountains. This state-of-the-art facility and the surrounding area provide an array of life-changing opportunities for individuals and veterans with disabilities.
