Therapy Services

At Anne Carlsen, children and young adults benefit from comprehensive therapy services provided by a team of highly specialized pediatric professionals in a family-centered, innovative and evidence-based practice.

Therapists encourage self-motivation, skill development, and independence through engagement and inclusion in daily activities. Therapy services offer education, inpatient and outpatient therapy services to meet the needs of the children served at Anne Carlsen and in our surrounding communities. Our team includes speech language pathologists, physical therapists, occupational therapists, and an adaptive equipment specialist.

  • Educational Therapy Services
Therapists work collaboratively to design and implement therapy interventions to support the general education curriculum. Adaptations are provided to help students achieve their IEP goals and reach optimal functional performance. The service delivery model is individualized based on each student’s needs. Educational therapy services provided by Anne Carlsen Center therapists also include contracted public-school therapy to support special education districts with providing identified therapy services.
  • Inpatient Therapy Services
Therapists provide support to children and staff in their natural living environments to enhance generalization of skills and independence with activities of daily living. In the residential environment, these supports include assessment for adaptations and equipment, individualized training, and ideas for creative play, as well as, providing early intervention services to children under the age of 3.
  • Outpatient Therapy Services
Speech Language Pathologists, Physical Therapists, and Occupational Therapists work with families to evaluate and treat children and young adults within the Jamestown area and surrounding communities to develop skills through therapeutic goals and treatment plans to improve independence. Therapists collaborate with Early Interventionists, Behavioral Health, Assistive Technology Specialists and our Adaptive Equipment Specialist to ensure a continuum of care and to meet the individual needs of each client.
