Behavioral Health and Autism

Anne Carlsen is dedicated to serving children and adults with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) and other behavioral health needs. Services encompass the entire family unit to foster a high quality of life and learning at home, at school, and in their communities. While serving individuals of all ages, Anne Carlsen believes in the effectiveness and importance of early intervention to help lead to successful outcomes and make a lasting and profound impact on quality of life.

Our highly trained Behavior Technicians are under the direction of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). Services address skills and behaviors within the learner’s programming. Functional Behavior Assessment is used to identify the causes of challenging behaviors such as self-injury, aggression towards others or destructive behaviors.

Expert Care

As part of our Anne Carlsen standard of care, we continually strive to advance our ability to meet the complex and unique needs of those we serve. The following specialty areas are vital components of our approach to Behavioral Health and Autism services.

Applied Behavior Analysis

Applied Behavior Analysis is a therapy that applies evidence-based strategies and interventions that address socially significant behaviors to improve the quality of life for the individuals impacted by the services.

Progress is documented during therapy on all programs and targets. We focus on real time data collection to increase its validity. Programming decisions are made by analyzing data.

Parent Involvement

We partner with parents to use practices to increase learning opportunities and skills. Parents are taught these skills in the child’s natural environments. Services focus on direct, simple social skills in very young children and progress to more complex, indirect social skills, such as body language nuances or conflict resolution.
