Our teachers and staff provide what no other educational facility in North Dakota offers: an enriched environment that utilizes on-site therapy and individualized assistive technology in a school setting, accommodating each learner’s diverse needs. We tailor each student’s education and match their abilities through the Individualized Education Plan (IEP). Our goal is to provide students with the individualized instruction and innovative learning techniques which enable them to greater independence.
Each student has an interdisciplinary team to provide a specialized, supportive and nurturing environment that encourages both academic learning and social growth. Each classroom consists of a special education teacher, general education teacher and several support staff. The standards of learning are based on the North Dakota state standards and evidence-based instruction is incorporated throughout their entire day.
Through collaboration and our continuum of services, we utilize a team approach in order to provide individualized and person-centered services. For individuals receiving Education services, the following departments and services are vital components of this continuum.
Anne Carlsen is a statewide leader in residential facilities for children and young adults with complex medical needs or behavioral disorders. We believe children and young adults of all abilities deserve the opportunity to live and thrive in an environment that enhances their potential.
Our Behavioral Support team, including Board Certified Behavior Analysts and Registered Behavior Technicians, spend time in each classroom. They are responsible for assessments, establishing behavioral support programs, staff training, and monitoring of program success.
